Violet-Tipped Goniopora is a strongly contrasting large-polyp stony coral, combining luminous green oral discs and stems with dusky violet to purple tentacle tips. Each extended polyp forms a compact, flower-like head, giving the colony a layered texture and plenty of character under blue-spectrum reef lighting.
The mix of shorter and more extended polyps creates a varied profile across the colony, while the violet edging clearly defines each individual head against the brighter green tissue. As the polyps extend and respond to water movement, this Goniopora brings soft, natural motion to the reef despite its stony growth structure. Allow suitable room around the colony so its fleshy polyps can open without being crowded by neighbouring corals.
