The surface is heavily covered in tightly packed, star-shaped polyps in a deep red-orange tone, creating a thick, textured layer across the entire mushroom. Each polyp has short, irregular arms that overlap slightly, giving the outer edge a dense and almost ruffled appearance. Beneath the polyps, a muted grey base is visible in small gaps, showing faint radial streaks that extend from the center outward. The central mouth is slightly raised and displays a soft pink coloration, standing out against the darker surrounding tones. Toward the edges, the polyps become even more concentrated, forming a solid outer ring, while the inner area allows just enough spacing to reveal the underlying structure.
