This pink sun coral forms a compact colony of closely packed, tubular stems. The stems show soft pink to peach colouring with fine ridged texture, while the visible polyp centres carry warmer coral-red tones.
The colony was only partly out when photographed, but the polyps do fully extend. Its yellow lashes create a strong contrast against the pink stems when open. This is a coral for viewing at night, when the polyps come out and the colony displays its fuller tentacle extension.
