Electric Vale Zoa Garden โ€“ Mixed Zoanthid Colony

This is a WYSIWYG specimen. You will receive the exact coral pictured โ€” a true one-of-a-kind piece.

Electric Vale Zoa Garden is a well-established mixed zoanthid colony showcasing a broad range of highly fluorescent colour morphs. From the outset, this piece delivers immediate visual impact. It brings together vivid greens, glowing oranges, bright yellows, and deeper contrasting tones into a single, cohesive garden that feels dense, mature, and carefully balanced.

Mixed zoa gardens offer exceptional visual value because they combine multiple morphs into one established colony. Instead of arranging individual frags across the aquarium, this piece provides colour diversity and texture in a single placement. As a result, it creates a strong focal point without unnecessary complexity.

Colour and Visual Character

This zoa garden features tightly packed polyps with clear colour separation and intense fluorescence under blue and actinic lighting. In particular, neon green skirts frame bright orange and yellow centres, while darker morphs add depth and contrast across the colony. Together, these elements form a layered, electric appearance that remains visually engaging from every angle.

Because the polyps have already grown together, the colony presents a natural and cohesive layout. Consequently, it avoids the fragmented look often seen with newly assembled zoa collections.

Care Level and Placement

Zoanthids thrive in stable reef systems and adapt well to a wide range of conditions. For best results, this colony prefers low to medium lighting and low to moderate flow, which allows polyps to open fully and maintain strong coloration. However, excessive flow can cause partial retraction and should be avoided.

Placement on rockwork, an island structure, or a dedicated zoa rock works well. Once positioned, minimal relocation is recommended. Over time, this stability encourages steady growth and long-term colour retention.

Feeding and Compatibility

Zoanthids rely primarily on photosynthesis. However, they also benefit from dissolved nutrients and fine particulate foods in the water column. For example, occasional broadcast feeding can support faster growth and richer coloration. Therefore, light supplemental feeding can be beneficial in lower-nutrient systems.

Because zoanthids are peaceful, this garden can coexist with a wide range of non-aggressive corals. Additionally, adequate spacing helps prevent overgrowth onto neighbouring pieces as the colony expands.

Why Choose an Electric Vale Zoa Garden?

This colony delivers exceptional colour variety in a single, established piece. Moreover, it suits reef keepers seeking instant visual impact alongside long-term growth potential. With stable conditions and thoughtful placement, Electric Vale Zoa Garden can remain a vibrant and enduring focal point in a well-balanced reef aquarium.

๐Ÿ”ง Our System Parameters

  • Alkalinity (KH): 8.5 dKH

  • Calcium: 430 ppm

  • Magnesium: 1350 ppm

These parameters reflect the conditions in which our corals are maintained prior to sale.

๐Ÿšš Coral Acclimation Guide

To help your coral settle in comfortably, float the sealed bag in your aquarium for 20โ€“30 minutes to allow temperature acclimatisation.

After this period, remove the coral from the bag and place it directly into the aquarium. Do not drip acclimatise, as prolonged exposure to shipping water can stress corals.

For the first 24โ€“48 hours, position the coral in a low light and low flow area. This allows it to adjust gradually to its new environment. After this period, you can slowly move the coral to its final position based on its lighting and flow requirements.
